The New Sage 99 has come out for those who have certain requirements. The rods is 9-foot, 9-inch length to enable the caster long dragfree drifts, which means that your flies sit in the "zone" longer. The taper of the rod alllows for the caster to cast long open looped casts with heavy nymphs or big bushy flies. It casts the distance of a 10footer while at the same time only has the demands of a 9footer.
