The Fin-nor Offshore series of reels are serious. I could not believe how strong and well built they were. I have been selling reels for over 26 years and have seen a few! What stood out to me was here at last I was looking at reels that had serious capacity - the 8500 holds 540 yds 20lb mono - at least 6ooyds of 50lb braid, and the 9500 holds 600yds of 20 - around 700 yds of 50lb braid or 480 of 80lb! Not only that it had the close tolerances and design work to handle that weight of line and last for years.

Everything about the reel is rugged. It has a grunty machined handle with a decent handle knob, huge stainless steel gears & pinion, and a stainless steel main shaft. The drag is multi washered and oversized and the tolerances really precise. I can imagine these being a total blast if you want to go bottom fishing for big fish, and at last we have a left hand wind option for those who hate the fact that you can't get overheads in left hand.

Ideally suited for Surf or Land Based fishing, this reel is rapidly becoming the "Go To" reel for someone who wants quality and durability.
